Hockey and Teaspoons

Well, I have to say that while the people at the Ramada are great...I really find the job to be so very tedious - which is why I'm glad that I start at Lou's on Monday.

My day had a high and a low - my low? Polishing teaspoons for two hours. Yes, I'm serious.

My high? Well, I know that Jer vis will appreciate this - I walked up the stairs into the conference center today, and when I looked up from my feet, was staring straight at the Stanley Cup. My first thought: Is this the real thing? Well, although one of the ladies at work kept calling it the Gray Cup...it really was the Stanley Cup. Pretty cool. Sadly, I didn't have a camera.

  1. I don't know if "high" is the right word for that, Kathleen. I would think "mountaintop transfiguration experience" is a little more accurate.

  3. meh...call it exciting when it's the commisioner's trophy (Major league baseball). There's a lot more of them...they make a new one every year. Thanks Wikipedia, you were helpful in this post.

  4. jer, if you have to put in brackets what the commissioner's trophy actually represents, clearly its not that exciting, or we'd all know what it is, dont ya think?

(and no, i am not above stooping to "my sport's trophy is better than your sport's trophy" arguments. the stanley cup RULES!)

  5. Trust me Jer, the commissioners trophy (MLB) is better than your cup...who wouldn't want to see a trophy with "30 gold-plated, hand-furled flags, one for each of the Major League teams, which rise above an arched silver ox baseball with latitude and longitude lines that symbolize the world. The baseball also contains 24-karat vermeil baseball stitches."
    Alright...Thanks again Wikipedia...

and i thought sitting in 10th row every season was exciting. well, since kathleen's seen the stanley cup, anyone want to take her place and come to a game with me?
actually, she hasn't even responded to me yet, so... first come first serve.

ok ok, maybe i should wait until she responds first....
